Objectives of the operation

This operation arises as a legacy of the bid for European Capital of Culture and represents recognition of the work carried out in preparation for ECoC 2027. The award of the title Portuguese Capital of Culture 2025 reflects a commitment to the continuity of the vision, concept and artistic programme set out in the Bid Dossier.

The main objectives of this operation are the planning, promotion, development and implementation of the initiatives envisaged within Braga 2025 – Portuguese Capital of Culture.


Activities and expected/achieved results

The implementation of the activities envisaged within this operation, namely through the Communication Plan—whose objectives are fully aligned with the priorities of the Tourism Strategy 2027—will enable:
  • public recognition of the importance of financial support provided by Turismo de Portugal, I.P.;
  • increased engagement of diverse audiences with the cultural resources of the territory of Braga and the Northern Region of Portugal; and
  • strengthened overall perception of public investment in cultural projects and its importance in the development of the national tourism offer.
