Main objective

This operation aims to promote the territorial competitiveness of the Municipality of Braga and the Northern Region, based on a territorial cultural development strategy leveraged by the European Capital of Culture title, and to position these territories as destinations of cultural excellence, enhancing their attractiveness and contributing to the economic valorisation of their endogenous cultural resources.

Objectives, activities and expected/achieved results

This operation aims to: promote the territorial competitiveness of the Municipality of Braga and the Northern Region; position the territory of the Municipality of Braga and the Northern Region as destinations of cultural excellence, enhancing their attractiveness and contributing to the economic valorisation of their endogenous cultural resources; engage private and public stakeholders from the cultural, tourism, social and economic sectors in the development of innovative initiatives; and develop and submit a bid for European Capital of Culture 2027 as a tool for territorial enhancement supporting regional development.
