At the latest UNESCO Creative Cities Annual Conference, Braga was unanimously elected as coordinator of the Media Arts cluster.
At the most recent UNESCO Creative Cities Annual Conference, held in Enghien-les-Bains on 23 and 24 June, Braga was unanimously elected as coordinator of the Media Arts cluster, composed of 25 cities from around the world, after four years serving as sub-coordinator.

Having already become, in 2024, the first Portuguese city to host the Annual Conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network — an event that brought together 660 delegates from the network’s seven creative fields, representing 97 countries — Braga now also becomes the first Portuguese city to assume coordination of a cluster.

Under the theme “Culture and Artificial Intelligence: Shaping the Future of UNESCO Creative Cities”, representatives from Creative Cities worldwide explored innovative ways of integrating Artificial Intelligence into cultural development, while simultaneously promoting sustainable urban growth.
