French Film Festival comes to Braga with three screenings at gnration

The 27th edition of the French Film Festival comes to Braga from 27 to 29 October, with three screenings at gnration.
The initiative is organised by Braga Municipality in partnership with Faz Cultura/Braga Media Arts, bringing the city into the circuit of one of Portugal’s most attended film festivals.

The programme for the general public takes place at 9.30pm each evening. It opens on 27 October with De la comédie française, by Bertrand Usclat and Martin Darondeau. This is followed on 28 October by Adeus, mundo cruel, by Félix de Givry, and on 29 October by O Canto das Florestas, by Vincent Munier.

In addition to the evening screenings, the festival brings an educational programme to Braga, featuring films selected for students and teachers of different age groups, promoting engagement with the French language and culture through cinema.

Launched in Lisbon on 1 October, the French Film Festival travels to 18 cities until 26 November, bringing together national premieres, leading filmmakers, retrospectives and a competitive section dedicated to first and second features. Every year, the festival attracts between 20,000 and 25,000 people to cinemas across the country.

Directed by the Il Sorpasso Association, the festival is organised in partnership with the French Embassy in Portugal, the Institut Français du Portugal and Unifrance.
