The support provided by dstgroup to the Contraponto Cycle and the Mediation and Participation Programme amounts to approximately €22,000.
dstgroup has announced that it will maintain its role as patron of two of the most emblematic projects within the cultural programme of Theatro Circo, in Braga, in 2026: the Contraponto Cycle and the Mediation and Participation Programme. This reinforces a consistent and structured commitment to the democratisation of access to culture and contemporary artistic creation.
Launched in 2024, the Contraponto Cycle once again features a programme dedicated to 20th- and 21st-century music—one of the most fertile, disruptive and innovative periods in the history of musical composition—bringing together local, national and international ensembles and composers.
The cycle proposes a true aesthetic and intellectual journey through contemporary music, fostering encounters between audiences, creators and diverse artistic languages.
At the same time, the Mediation and Participation Programme broadens the scope of this vision by integrating projects aimed at young audiences, as well as initiatives that stimulate critical thinking, reflection and active citizen engagement in the city’s cultural life.
“The partnership with dstgroup plays a fundamental role in consolidating Theatro Circo’s artistic mission, strengthening its position as a benchmark institution within the national artistic context. Patronage support for the Contraponto Cycle and the Mediation and Participation Programme fosters contemporary creation, critical thinking and dialogue between artists, works and audiences,” says Luís Fernandes, Artistic Director of Faz Cultura – Braga’s Municipal Cultural Company.
This support translates into a direct investment of €22,000, reaffirming dstgroup’s understanding that culture is an essential pillar of social, territorial and human development.
“The support for these two projects within Theatro Circo’s programme is justified for two reasons, one for each project. In the Contraponto Cycle, depth must challenge superficiality. Depth should not be the one that merely resists and survives. Classical music and classical composers are the grammar of music. We must listen to this grammar in order to learn how to be moved. Support for the Mediation and Participation Programme is justified because everything begins at the beginning. The beginning is the seed. The beginning is education, so that life becomes simpler. Supporting educational artistic projects is an investment in building freedom, creativity and the imaginative foundations of young people,” explains José Teixeira, President of dstgroup.
This collaboration reflects a long-standing commitment to artistic excellence and to fostering a meaningful relationship between art, culture and the community.
More than a one-off gesture, this patronage forms part of a long-term strategy aligned with the group’s vision as an active agent in building more informed, critical and culturally engaged communities.
Cultural patronage is part of dstgroup’s DNA, reflecting a corporate identity that recognises culture as a driver of transformation and progress.
In this context, the group will also make tickets available to its employees, strengthening the connection between artistic creation and the people who contribute daily to the group’s work.
